Workers fell by almost nine points in value added and the entrepreneurial surplus increased by seven points, with the greatest distributive regressiveness occurring in the manufacturing industry. Among the factors that tended to drive these changes in industry it is worth mentioning the widening of the gap between real wages and productivity and the strong increase in industrial prices. The paper aims to address these changes in the distribution of income in industry by analyzing the evolution of productivity and wages and the link between sectoral profit margins and the movement of their relative prices based on two case studies (that of the steel and oil chain).
