For this purpose, the main trends of the local automotive industry are described and the performance of the different automotive terminals is compared. The examination is con­ducted based on the survey of specialized bibliography and the analysis of several databases through descriptive statistics. The results of the study show that the case of Toyota stands out for its positive performance in most of the aspects analyzed, highlighting, among these, the features of its international insertion. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la trayectoria de la empresa Toyota Argentina en el marco de los problemas que atravesó el complejo automotor en la etapa de la posconvertibilidad (2002-2015) y durante el gobierno de Cambiemos (2016-2019). Para ello, se reconstruye el recorrido general del sector y se compara el desempeño de las distintas terminales automotrices durante el período. El examen se realiza a partir del relevamiento de la bibliografía especializada y el análisis de bases de datos a través de la estadística descrip­tiva.
