Its strategic location and good natural defenses are at the origin of the different uses that you received as strong or as habitat center, depending on the historical contexts.Finally, the wall has undergone a comprehensive study on our part during the Congress held in Lugo in 2005, with the title: Walls of Roman cities in the west of the Empire. Lucus Augusti as a paradigm. En este trabajo se aportan precisiones cronológicas, al tiempo que se ofrece una interpretación global de la muralla y del asentamiento de Monte Cildá. Presenta la particularidad de haber sido ocupado de forma intermitente a lo largo de la Antigüedad y de la Alta Edad Media. Su estratégica ubicación geográfica y sus buenas defensas naturales están en el origen de los distintos usos que recibió como fortaleza o como centro de hábitat, dependiendo de los contextos históricos.Finalmente, la muralla ha sido objeto de un estudio completo por nuestra parte con motivo del Congreso celebrado en Lugo en el año 2005, con el título: Murallas de ciudades romanas en el Occidente del Imperio.
