The writer takes the actions of individuals who had a markedly different sociocultural profile: came from the humble sectors of social space, devoid of its own systematic training of counsel under the "men of the Church" or imposing mathematical knowledge astrology. Among them are the shoemaker of Parma, Benvenuto Asdente and the veronese weaver of Fontevivo. Los individuos y las situaciones vinculados a lo profético exceden, en la Chronica de fray Salimbene de Parma, a la figura del célebre abad Joaquín de Fiore, a cuyas ideas el fraile cronista adhirió explícitamente, así como la de famosos joaquinistas franciscanos como fray Juan de Parma o fray Gerardo de Borgo San Donnino. El cronista recoge el accionar de sujetos que poseían un perfil sociocultural marcadamente diferente: procedían de los sectores subalternos del espacio social, desprovistos de la formación sistemática propia del marco letrado de los “hombres de Iglesia” o de los conocimientos matemáticos que imponía el saber astrológico.
