We will try to demonstrate, primarily through the analysis of Sermo II, that Chromatios uses this concept not only to refer to those Christians who disagreed with the local orthodoxy –as it has been assumed- but also to the members of his own Christian community whose beliefs and behaviors, perhaps because the recency of their conversions, didn’t comply, from the ecclesiastical perspective, with the requirements of the new faith. We, the others and others among us: who is the heretic in the Chromatios of Aquileia's discourse?
