The study of the aduersus iudaeos literature must be carried out with supreme caution. In fact, in many occasions we can scarcely be satisfied with the reconstruction of the image of the Hebrews displayed in the diverse texts and sermons, without knowing accurately neither the motivations nor the aims of such discursive constructions. On the other hand, there are other types of documents in which aspects of the interaction can be traced between Jewish and Christian communities. The analysis of the Homiliae in Evangelia of Gregory the Great, as well as his Registrum epistularum and the Jewish contemporary epigraphy, allows us to focus on the problematic from three types of different records.
