| Sumario: | This document evaluates the effects of the Universal Child Allowance for Social Protection on the labor participation of adults and on the generation of income, by using the Differences-in-Differences Estimator (DD) and propensity score matching techniques for the period 2009-2015. Results suggest that the program did not cause employment disincentives, since it did not discourage the work of adults nor did it cause a reduction in the number of hours worked. These findings are very relevant in the Latin American context, where this type of public cash transfers has become a fundamental component of social protection systems for children. |
