Additionally, the program incorporates conditionalities in health and education, in order to extend the long-term impacts and break the intergenerational cycle of poverty. The objective of this paper is to analyze the relevance and impact of health conditionality on the consumption of health services by the target population of the AUH; as well as in the quality of the services. The analysis is made on the basis of the results of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) process carried out by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Survey of Protection and Social Security (ENAPROSS 2015) of the Ministry of Employment. La implementación de la Asignación Universal por Hijo para Protección Social (AUH) resultó novedosa en distintos aspectos. Por un lado porque se trata de un programa de transferencias monetarias que se aleja de las prácticas dominantes hasta ese momento de transferir bienes en especie. De manera adicional, continuando con la iniciativa del Plan Jefes y Jefas de Hogar Desocupados, el programa incorpora condicionalidades, en salud y educación, a los fines de extender los impactos a largo plazo y romper el ciclo intergeneracional de la pobreza. Este documento tiene por objetivo analizar la pertinencia y el impacto que detenta la condicionalidad en salud en el consumo de servicios de salud por parte de la población destinataria de la AUH; así como en la calidad de los servicios percibidos.
