Sumario:The economic analysis of fisheries has triggered a rich theoretical and empirical literature that is constantly evolving. However, the economic and social impact of climate change on fishery resources is a relatively unexplored topic. Furthermore, the lack of research is more visible when compared with the academic production of natural sciences in this field. This paper surveys the main contributions of the economic analysis of fisheries and how they can be extended so as to make an explicit linkage with the issues of climate change. The discussion is centered around maritime fisheries. The research shows that integrated ecologyeconomic models offer an interesting perspective for further inquiry. Conclusions point to the importance of interdisciplinary work capable of bringing together the anthropogenic effects of climate change upon biomass and economic activities.
