In particular, local planners of public transport in the city of Resistencia do not have this information, which can be obtained directly from an Origin-Destination survey or indirectly, from the spatial analysis in a GIS environment. The article describes a scenario to achieve genuine mobility information from the use of GIS, and thus presumably know the population uses the service given its status as a resident of the place, according to 2001 census data, with the expectation that this methodology can be used at the time in which we can access data 2010, as the time of writing this contribution we do not have them. The findings provide knowledge to management and public transport planning in the city of Resistencia. La planificación urbana debe considerar una movilidad segura, sostenible y accesible y por ello necesariamente debe involucrar el conocimiento de información en detalle sobre las condiciones sociodemográficas y económicas del ciudadano. En lo particular, los planificadores locales del transporte público de pasajeros en la ciudad de Resistencia no cuentan con este tipo de información. La misma puede ser obtenida directamente de una encuesta de movilidad origen-destino o indirectamente, esto es, obtenida a partir del análisis espacial en un entorno SIG. El artículo expone un escenario para conseguir información genuina de movilidad a partir del empleo de un sistema de información geográfica, y de este modo conocer la población que presumiblemente se sirve de ese servicio dada su condición de residente del lugar, según datos censales 2001, con la expectativa de que esta metodología pueda ser utilizada en el momento en que podamos acceder a los datos 2010 ya que al momento de escribir esta contribución no contamos con los mismos.
