| Sumario: | The supermarket packer job is carried out in Chile by young people between the ages of 18 and 29. In 2011 the precarious conditions of this role started to become visible. The objective of the article is to explore the working conditions of packers from three focal points. The first focuses on identifying the objective working conditions, the second on examining the form of collective organization and the last, on analyzing the work experience based on the condition of social moratorium. The article refers to the results of a study that considers that the labor precariousness of the packer job is accepted by young people because they put economic benefits before the exercise of their rights as workers, in many cases having to carry out activities that do not officially form part of their role. |
