This is an outdoor mound site that has a prolonged occupation in time ranging from Formative to Aguada times. Thus, the aim of this research was to inquire about the taphonomic processes and agents that acted over the bone remains from a diachronic perspective, comparing both occupations. The studies carried out enable to recognize that, even though the site has long occupation in time, similar taphonomic and processes (natural and cultural) acted over time and did not vary greatly in intensity. Moreover, among them, the main generator and transformer agent of these assemblages were the people. En el presente trabajo se exponen los resultados del análisis de los procesos tafonómicos que actuaron sobre los materiales arqueofaunísticos del sitio Martínez 3, el cual se halla emplazado en el sector deprimido del Valle de Ambato, Catamarca, Argentina. Éste es un sitio monticular al aire libre que registra una ocupación prolongada en el tiempo que abarca desde momentos Formativos hasta Aguada. De este modo, el objetivo que guió esta investigación fue indagar acerca de los procesos y agentes tafonómicos que actuaron sobre los restos óseos desde una perspectiva diacrónica, comparando ambas ocupaciones. Los estudios desarrollados posibilitaron reconocer que, si bien este sitio presenta una ocupación prolongada en el tiempo, a lo largo de la misma actuaron los mismos agentes y procesos tafonómicos, tanto naturales como culturales, los cuales no variaron en gran medida en su intensidad.
