This integrates two core concepts: diversification and differentiation. Strategy formulation consists in determining each of these two decisions and its interrelationship. We also consider that strategy implementation implies the generation of tactical actions that assures its execution. This requires the relationship of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with those initiatives that enables monitoring and improvement. En este artículo consideramos que las decisiones estratégicas de toda empresa son su estrategia de portafolio de negocios y la estrategia competitiva de cada uno de ellos. Esto integra dos conceptos clave: la diversificación y la diferenciación. La formulación de la estrategia consiste en definir cada una de estas dos decisiones y su interrelación. También consideramos que, para que la estrategia sea implementable, es imprescindible generar las acciones tácticas que aseguren su ejecución.
