It defines the categories and methodological criteria used in the recognition of morphological and decorative regularities on the ceramic pots independently of its valley of provenience. However, in a greater degree of resolution, there are some particularities related to the thematic repertoire and the kind of contour that distinguishes one zone from the other. Finally, it intends to contribute to the construction of a stylistic base of reference which allows us to classify and incorporate fragmentary materials to the analysis based on the morpho-dimensional, thematic and organizational repertoire founded on complete vessels utilized. Este trabajo se propone contribuir a la definición de las unidades iconográficas y recursos compositivos del estilo decorativo Belén a través del análisis de una muestra de vasijas recuperadas en contextos funerarios y procedentes de tres de sus áreas de dispersión, los valles de Abaucán, Hualfin y Andalgalá (Catamarca, Argentina). Se definen las variables y criterios metodológicos que guiaron el trabajo y facilitaron el reconocimiento de recurrencias morfológicas y decorativas en las piezas cerámicas independientemente de los valles de procedencia. A un grado mayor de resolución se registran particularidades que distinguen una zona de la otra y que están vinculadas con el repertorio temático y el tipo de contorno que tiende a predominar enlas piezas de cada una de las ellas.
