The utopia in their songs give other meanings to the experience of exile, especially when they lived so differently in Europe. To stay or to return would also bring other issues, replied in a different way by the musicians. Based on the methodology of oral history, we have the objective of discussing courses that led these musicians to be involved in these experiences, either in order to give other directions for their work, either in the sense of using music to give a new direction to their political positions and to their militancy.  Este trabajo tiene como objetivo discutir cuestiones de vivencia del exilio a partir de las entrevistas hechas a dos músicos chilenos (Eduardo Carrasco, del conjunto Quilapayún, y Jorge Coulón, del conjunto Inti-Illimani) y confrontar las experiencias vividas de esos músicos exiliados en los diferentes países durante esos años. La utopía presente en sus canciones da otros significados a la experiencia del exilio, sobre todo porque vivían de forma muy diferente en Europa. El quedarse o el regresar también traería otras cuestiones, a las que ambos respondieron de manera distinta.
