With high economic power, its members, known as Rio-Deutsche, were part of the cultural and political elites of the Republic. When the belligerence broke out, they made use of these networks of contacts to undertake initiatives to win over public opinion in favor of the Central Powers. Thus, it is proposed to identify and briefly examine the main representatives of the Rio-Deutsche in the political and cultural spheres, their interlocutors, and strategies to gain the sympathy of Brazilian society for the German campaign throughout the Great War, understood as a global war. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la actuación de la comunidad germano-brasileña de Río de Janeiro en la articulación de la narrativa pro-alemana a lo largo de la Primera Guerra Mundial. La entonces capital federal albergaba la comunidad germano-brasileña urbana más antigua, formada a partir de 1808. Con un alto poder económico, sus miembros, conocidos como Rio-Deutsche, formaban parte de las élites culturales y políticas de la República. Al estallar la guerra, utilizaron estas redes de contacto para emprender iniciativas destinadas a ganar la opinión pública en favor de las Potencias Centrales. Se propone, así, identificar y examinar brevemente a los principales representantes de los Rio-Deutsche en los espacios políticos y culturales, sus interlocutores y estrategias para ganar la simpatía de la sociedad brasileña para la campaña alemana a lo largo de la Gran Guerra, entendida como una guerra global. O presente artigo pretende analisar a atuação da comunidade teuto-brasileira do Rio de Janeiro na articulação da narrativa pró-Alemanha ao longo da Primeira Guerra Mundial. A então capital federal abrigava a mais antiga comunidade teuto-brasileira em zona urbana, formada a partir de 1808. Detentora de alto poder econômico, seus membros, conhecidos como Rio-Deutsche, integravam as elites culturais e políticas da República. Quando deflagrada a beligerância, fizeram uso destas redes de contato visando encampar iniciativas para a conquista da opinião pública em direção aos Impérios Centrais.
