We hope to contribute to a better understanding of the circumstances inherent to the first reception of Saussure’s work in Russia, particularly in Moscow, and of the consequences that these circumstances had on the later development of linguistics, especially on the so-called “structural” current. El presente artículo reconstruye la historia de las tentativas de traducción del Curso de lingüística general (Saussure, 1916) al ruso a principios de los años 20 –las primeras, cronológicamente, de que se tengan noticias–, y contribuye a la recuperación del ámbito intelectual moscovita y de las redes epistolares que favorecieron la difusión de las ideas de Saussure en Moscú, cuyos ecos impactarían directamente en la producción del Círculo Lingüístico de Praga.
