The main hypothesis of the analysis is that the narratives of FEB veterans about their experiences in World War II are marked by a profound unease and a desire to forget, reflecting the complexity of both collective and individual memory in relation to traumatic experiences. Although these narratives often include elements of heroism and patriotism, they also reveal a tension between the need for remembrance and the difficulty of expressing and communicating the pain and trauma of war. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar un aspecto de la participación de la FEB en la Segunda Guerra Mundial: la transmisión de narrativas frente a la naturaleza traumática de estas experiencias. La principal hipótesis del análisis es que las narrativas de los veteranos de la FEB sobre sus experiencias en la Segunda Guerra Mundial están marcadas por un profundo malestar y un deseo de olvido, reflejando la complejidad de la memoria colectiva e individual en relación con experiencias traumáticas. Aunque estas narrativas a menudo presentan elementos de heroísmo y patriotismo, también revelan una tensión entre la necesidad de rememoración y la dificultad para expresar y comunicar el dolor y el trauma de la guerra. O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar um aspecto da participação da FEB na Segunda Guerra Mundial: a transmissão de narrativas frente à natureza traumática dessas experiências. A principal hipótese da análise é de que as narrativas dos veteranos da FEB sobre suas experiências na Segunda Guerra Mundial são marcadas por um profundo desconforto e um desejo de esquecimento, refletindo a complexidade da memória coletiva e individual em relação a experiências traumáticas.
