This article provides a brief historical overview of the main acting methodologies that entered or were developed in our country throughout the 20th Century, paying attention to the place each methodology gives to the actor or actress corporeality, in order to lay the contextual groundwork that allows us to understand the map of discourses and representations of the body that characterizes the circuit of La Plata independent theater today.
