Sumario:The article raises a question regarding of the reception of Tadeusz Kantor’s work. It will explain how Kantor -a Polish artist and director- has become relevant in Latin America. We will observe the possible direct influence of Tadeusz Kantor’s conception on the theater in Argentina, based on the example of El Periférico de Objetos. The article proposes to recognize how, in a completely different socio-cultural context, the elements arising from Kantor’s theater (as his idea of the “poor object” and his concept of the “reality of the lowest rank”) have acquired a distinctively different meaning from that coined by Kantor. The article will demonstrate how Kantor’s concepts, adapted by the Periférico de Objetos participated in the debates around the recent past in Argentina.
