The Anthropocene demands a reconsideration of the role of human agency in the geological and climatic transformation of the planet. The primary mechanism through which we have impacted the planet has been the production and use of energy. However, energy is also crucial for human well-being in various forms. Considering the need to observe this tension at a local scale, this work analyzes, from a constructivist anthropological standpoint, two case studies of Chilean islands: Robinson Crusoe Island (Juan Fernández) and Llingua Island (Chiloé). From these islands, the relevance of local adaptation capacities is problematized, based on the concept of resilience. The main conditions that have hindered energy adaptation on these islands are discussed, and a brief discussion is proposed on the place of human agency in addressing the question of climate adaptation in the Anthropocene. |

El Antropoceno exige repensar el lugar de la agencia humana en la transformación geológica y climática del planeta. El principal mecanismo por el que hemos afectado el planeta ha sido la producción y el uso de energía. Sin embargo, la energía es también crucial para el bienestar humano en diversas formas. Considerando la necesidad de observar esta tensión a escala local, este trabajo analiza, desde una antropología constructivista, dos casos de estudio de islas chilenas: la isla Robinson Crusoe (Juan Fernández) y la isla Llingua (Chiloé). Desde estas islas se problematiza la relevancia de las capacidades de adaptación local, a partir del concepto de resiliencia. Se discuten las principales condiciones que han dificultado la adaptación energética en estas islas, y se propone una breve discusión sobre el lugar de la agencia humana al enfrentar la pregunta por la adaptación climática en el Antropoceno. O principal mecanismo pelo qual temos afetado o planeta tem sido a produção e o uso de energia. No entanto, a energia também é crucial para o bem-estar humano em diversas formas.
