Sumario:This article analyzes the intellectual productions of civilians and soldiers in the period 1983-1989 within the Geopolítica magazine. In particular, we will focus on the problem of the conflictive relations between Argentina and Chile in what we consider to be the stage of the creation of a nascent security community. We propose that, between these years, the magazine deepens its perspective of Latin American integration in which intellectual productions are not only an expression of this process, but also promote it through their theoretical approaches. In parallel, the confrontational geopolitical conceptions of irredentism are gradually abandoned, as well as the idea of the “threatening neighborhood”.
