We propose in these pages to analyze, from the police point of view, what force uses are legitimate and, therefore, morally accepted, and which are rejected. We will investigate the moral definitions that delimit the permitted and the forbidden, the just and the unjust regarding the use of physical force. To discover and to analyze these limits allows us to study the establishment of a work practice that supports and legitimates practices that frequently are illegal.
