The objective of this article is to analyze the spatio-temporal scope, that is, the coverage of the public passenger transport service of the city of Formosa. For this, technical criteria (regulatory thresholds) were considered and spatial analysis processes were carried out -executed in a GIS environment-, based on data obtained from primary (field survey) and secondary sources (CNPHyV, 2010). The results show a wide territorial coverage of transport, although with limitations in peripheral areas of the city where access difficulties are observed, especially in sectors far from the service headers; a situation that is also consistent with the dispersed mode of production of urban land. The evaluation of the travel time using the empirical Bayesian Kriging method, in comparison with interpolation by IDW, has validated both the precision and the reliability of the results obtained using the first technique. El transporte público de pasajeros constituye uno de los nexos en el abordaje del binomio movilidad-accesibilidad en el ámbito urbano, ya que el acceso a las oportunidades de empleo, a los lugares de residencia o a los espacios donde se ofrecen muchos de los servicios esenciales depende, en gran medida, de las posibilidades y circunstancias materiales de los viajes. El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar el alcance espacio-temporal, es decir, la cobertura del servicio de transporte público de pasajeros de la ciudad de Formosa. Para ello, se consideraron criterios técnicos (umbrales normativos) y se aplicaron procesos de análisis espacial –ejecutados en un entorno SIG– en función de datos obtenidos de fuentes primarias (relevamiento en terreno) y secundarias (CNPHyV, 2010). Los resultados evidencian una amplia cobertura territorial del transporte, aunque con limitaciones en áreas periféricas de la ciudad, donde se observan dificultades de acceso, especialmente en sectores alejados de las cabeceras de servicio. Esta situación, además, se corresponde con el modo disperso de producción del suelo urbano.
