A recent archaeological excavation on the farm where this site is located has uncovered new information about its archaeological deposits. Observations on the local stratigraphic matrix, the distribution of the artifact assemblages, and the radiocarbon dates obtained from the sediments suggest a complexity in the formation processes of the site that was not previously considered or reported. The new evidence indicates inconsistencies in the resolution of the defined archaeological components. The results show that the contextual and chronological relationships reported on the earliest assemblages are weak and require revision. The article discusses the discovery of new lithic artifacts at the Urupez archaeological site, which are associated with early bifacial technology. These artifacts include a 'fishtail' projectile point. The significance of Urupez as a site for understanding human migrations at the end of the Pleistocene is emphasized. The article also reaffirms the need to expand the well-documented stratigraphic and chronological evidence for a correct legitimization of its early contexts.
