Another correlation also exists between the chronicle as a genre and the predominant use of narrative in the theatrical production. Pedro Lemebel utilizó el género de la crónica para instalar el debate sobre las disidencias sexuales y, particularmente, el asunto de lo homoerótico en contexto de marginación. La ciudad sin ti de Claudia Pérez y Rodrigo Muñoz restaura, a modo de homenaje, la propuesta de Lemebel. Se propone que existe una relación directa entre la crónica, como género mixto y ambivalente, marginado y marginal, y el debate planteado por Lemebel en la selección de crónicas que constituyen la obra teatral La ciudad sin ti.
