Here I am proposing a reading of these three dimensions of the archive in Mansilla’s writing. The framework is given by Mansilla’s own late and ironic reflection on the possibilities of editing his complete works and by our questioning about his archive as latent force. La profusión y dispersión de las publicaciones de Lucio V. Mansilla en la prensa alimentaron la idea (consolidada entre historiadores y críticos en el temprano siglo XX y de algún modo reforzada por la periódica pérdida de materiales por parte del autor) de que la reunión de su obra completa era imposible, si no también innecesaria. La pulsión de archivo, sin embargo, atraviesa la obra de Mansilla: materialmente, en la práctica de edición y en la práctica de la escritura como anotación; imaginariamente, en la intuición de la escritura como tecnología de archivación; idealmente, en la concepción de sus causeries como “monumento arqueológico”. Propongo aquí una lectura de estas tres dimensiones del archivo en la escritura de Mansilla.
