Sumario:The purpose of this article is to explore the archival methods and practices used in organizing personal archives, with a specific focus on the procedures employed in creating classification scheme in collections related to the performing arts. The study population selected for this research corresponds to the personal archive of Juan Carlos Gené, held at the Instituto de Artes del Espectáculo, which belongs to the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. In order to obtain a more detailed overview of the state of the archive, a data collection instrument was designed for subsequent analysis in relation to what exists in the personal archive, the producer's activities, and their representation in the classification scheme.   ARK CAICYT: http://id.caicyt.gov.ar/ark:/s18511740/w9955crs2
