To do this, we will present his role as a philologist – analyst, historian and epistemologist – in the disciplinary dimension, as a director – teacher and translator – in the institutional dimension and as a public figure in the social dimension. Esta contribución ofrece un recorrido histórico con el que busca conceptualizar aquello que describe bajo la noción de atributos de Amado Alonso, entendiéndolos como una manera de analizar sus aportes, de interpretar el alcance de su labor en el Instituto de Filología y de representar un período fundamental del desarrollo de las ideas lingüísticas en la Argentina, en particular, y en el mundo hispánico, en general.
