The magnitude of the recent findings using LiDAR technology has aroused concern and expectations in the academic community and in different areas of society. In this context, and in response to the requests of local entities, workshops were organized to discuss strategies for the protection of archaeological heritage/ at Trinidad municipality. Participatory methodologies were used to identify problems, goals, and lines of action as well as to learn about the values that each of the selected interest groups attribute to heritage. As a result, working groups were formed, and their work agendas were defined. Based on this case, this paper presents the workshop experience and its results to further discuss the challenges of implementing participatory dynamics for heritage safeguarding.
