In the second stage, I look for the relationship between Ethnohistory and Archaeology, underlying data that could render more congruence to the archaeological register. The third stage was guided by the theme of my Ph. D. thesis, the Tehuelches of north Patagonia, and was organized following three axis: ethnic identity, territorial organization and chiefdomships. En este trabajo presento una reflexión sobre mi práctica de Etnohistoria/ Antropología histórica que se ha desarrollado en tres etapas. Durante la primera aporté un enfoque diacrónico a la visión del poblamiento de diversas áreas de Patagonia, identificando -en base a ,los contactos interétnicos- diferentes "momentos". la segunda etapa buscó relacional la Atnohistoria con la Arqueología, destacando aquellos datos que pudieran aportar mayor congruencia a la interpretación del registro arqueológico. La tercera etapa estuvo guiada por el tema de mi Tesis Doctoral, los tehuelches del norte de la Patagonia, y se organizó siguiendo tres ejes: la identidad étnica, la organización territorial y el cacicazgo. Neste artigo, apresento uma reflexão sobre minha prática de etnohistória/antropologia histórica, que se desenvolveu em três etapas. Na primeira, apresentei uma abordagem diacrônica ao povoamento de diversas áreas da Patagônia, identificando -com base em contatos interétnicos- diferentes "momentos". A segunda etapa buscou conectar a etnohistória com a arqueologia, destacando dados que pudessem conferir maior consistência à interpretação do registro arqueológico.
