| Sumario: | The paper examines a series of investigations focused on Hispanic-Indigenous societies of northwestern of Argentina, initially framed inside ethnohistory. This research challenged the applicability of closer referents of Andean ethnohistory, to specific problems appearing in the area. At the same time they fluctuated between theoretical frameworks and methodological tools borrowed from Anthropology and History. This reflection upon this production leads to criticism exploring the limits and benefits of interdisciplinary work and to the possibility of finding richer explanation and interpretation contexts in the face of the challenges presented by colonial societies. |
