It resists Eurocentric canons, advocates for specificity and embraces the perspectives of local dance, challenging marginalization. This first book contributes to the larger project of decolonizing dance studies.   Danzas Desobedientes (2022) es el primer libro del Grupo de Estudios de Danza Argentina y Latinoamericana (GEDAL) de la Universidad de Buenos Aires. La compilación desafía los cánones convencionales al destacar diversos temas, objetos y estéticas de la danza más allá de los discursos legitimadores. Busca construir una identidad plural de trabajadores de la danza y fomentar producciones Sur que examinen el Sur. El GEDAL se especializa en estudios críticos de la danza, considerando el cuerpo como un producto cultural y tema de investigación, entrelazando práctica y teoría a través de diversas metodologías. Danzas Desobedientes (2022) profundiza en las danzas argentinas, participando en diálogos hemisféricos más allá de las narrativas hegemónicas, adoptando perspectivas y metodologías específicas. Se resiste a los cánones eurocéntricos, aboga por la especificidad y abraza las perspectivas de la danza local, desafiando la marginación.
