To this end, households with an Afro head of household are distinguished from those with a non-Afro head of household, and the registered types of householdsand family structures in each of them are compared. The existence of a "black neighborhood", made up of families united by kinship ties, either consanguineous, by affinity or symbolic is also corroborated and its location within the urban commons is indicated, according to the information provided by the registry under study, and also by a map of the Patagones district from 1888. En este trabajo, se analiza la estructura y composición familiar presente en los hogares donde residían los africanos y los afrodescendientes de Carmen de Patagones -Norpatagonia argentina- a fines del siglo XIX, según información brindada por las cédulas del registro municipal levantado en 1887 y de acuerdo a la tipología de hogares desarrollada por el Grupo de Cambridge. Al respecto, se distinguen los hogares con jefatura de hogar afro de aquellos con jefatura de hogar no afro, y se comparan los tipos de hogar y la estructura familiar registrados en cada uno. También se registra la existencia de un “barrio negro”,conformado por familias unidas por lazos de parentesco, tanto consanguíneos como por afinidad y simbólicos, y se indica su ubicación dentro del ejido urbano, de acuerdo a la información brindada por el registro bajo estudio y también la aportada por el plano del partido de Patagones de 1888. Este artigo analisa a estrutura e a composição familiar presentes nos domicílios onde residiam africanos e afrodescendentes em Carmen de Patagones, Patagônia Norte, Argentina, no final do século XIX, com base em informações fornecidas pelos registros municipais compilados em 1887 e de acordo com a tipologia de domicílios desenvolvida pelo Grupo de Cambridge. Nesse sentido, é feita uma distinção entre domicílios chefiados por afro-americanos e aqueles chefiados por não afro-americanos, e os tipos de domicílios e estruturas familiares registrados em cada um são comparados.
