A first view of these representations in the socio-economic frame of Buenos Aires' countryside lead us to focus on the role of non-indian local society as an integration agent of the mapuche population to the regional pampean context. Related to this, we will take into consideration discourses referring to the indians as "othering practices" showing the contradictory ways of exclusion and inclusion of this "inner other" and the ways of representation of the local society in the national framework.  A partir de una fuente discursiva del año 1938 analizamos las concepciones y valores hegemónicos predominantes acerca del indígena, presentes en el entrono social inmediato a la Tribu de Coliqueo, ubicada en Los Toldos, Provincia de Buenos Aires. Una primera contextualización de estas representaciones en el marco económico-social d e la campaña bonaerense lleva a destacar el papel de la sociedad no-indígena local como agente e instrumento de las formas en que esta población mapuche se incorpora al contexto regional pampeano.
