This in turn, involved material and symbolic capitals. Finally those became the basis of this society whose character can be defines as hierechical-patrimonial.  Las redes de parentesco y la organización de la familia se revelan como una de las vías privilegiadas para desentrañar las claves del funcionamiento de las élites de la ciudad de San Salvador de Velasco en el Valle de Jujuy, durante el siglo XVI y XVII. Aquellas forman un entramado que informa sobre las configuraciones sociales y matrices culturales a través de las cuales se desenvuelve la lógica de sus relaciones humanas fundamentales. Es posible, inclusive, ver esas mismas configuraciones en movimiento a través de la puesta en práctica de estrategias destinadas a proteger, acrecentar o mantener unidos patrimonios familiares que involucran capitales materiales y simbólicos. Estos, finalmente, constituyen el sustento de esa sociedad cuyo carácter se define como estamental-patrimonial.  As redes de parentesco e a organização familiar revelam-se como uma das vias privilegiadas para desvendar as chaves do funcionamento das elites da cidade de San Salvador de Velasco, no Vale do Jujuy, durante os séculos XVI e XVII. Essas redes formam uma estrutura que informa as configurações sociais e as matrizes culturais por meio das quais se desenrola a lógica de suas relações humanas fundamentais. É possível, inclusive, observar essas mesmas configurações em movimento por meio da implementação de estratégias que visam proteger, aumentar ou manter patrimônio familiar unificado, envolvendo capital material e simbólico.
