In order to achieve this goal, the emphasis is placed on the usage of the terms Guenoa and Minuan as synonyms. This paper also shows the weakness of the thesis of an immigration process through which they would have exchanged their territory with the Charrúas. In addition, the existence of a macroethnicity to which they would have belonged is questioned. Finally, the role played bythe Guenoa Minuanos in the mission villages is highlighted.
