The images about the context, population, and migratory experiences bring forth specificities that enable deeper understanding of the meanings inherent in the caregiving and upbringing methods. This exploration encompasses both school and community interventions, as well as the diverse trajectories of migrant women within the studied context. A partir de una investigación de corte etnográfico, en este artículo se aborda prácticas y sentidos en torno a la crianza, la educación y el cuidado en los primeros años de la niñez. A partir de los saberes que despliegan los actores institucionales y las madres migrantes se analizan los modos y estrategias que se ponen en juego para criar y educar en un barrio de la zona sur de la ciudad de Buenos aires, en un contexto de marcada desigualdad. Las imágenes sobre el contexto, sobre la población y también las experiencias migratorias plantean particularidades que permiten profundizar en los sentidos involucrados en los modos de cuidar y criar, tanto en las intervenciones escolares y comunitarias como en las diversas trayectorias de mujeres migrantes en el contexto estudiado. Com base numa pesquisa etnográfica, este artigo aborda as práticas e os significados em torno da criação, educação e cuidados nos primeiros anos da infância. A partir dos saberes mobilizados pelos atores institucionais e pelas mães migrantes, analisamos as formas e estratégias utilizadas para criar e educar num bairro da zona sul da cidade de Buenos Aires, num contexto de marcada desigualdade.
