The research intends to highlight the narrative peculiarities of this testimony, which presents some significant divergences with respect to the main Malalas’ witness (Baroccianus gr. 182) and reveals an apparently autonomous way to use, rework and combine various chronicle materials. L’articolo prende in esame uno dei cosiddetti Fragmenta Tusculana (Crypt. gr. 54), comunemente interpretati come la più antica testimonianza (di VI-VII secolo) della Chronographia di Malalas. In particolare, il focus è posto sul terzo frammento, dedicato all’episodio dell’imperatrice Eudocia, Paolino e la mela.
