In this text I will analyze a central aspect of his work: rewriting. I will address various examples of this procedure, as well as the different ways in which it appears, since it implies more than a correction or a new version of a text: it can modify the meaning of the text, and of the vision of the world that it projects. Furthermore, rewriting is related to the desire —and the impossibility— to correct and re-experience life, both that of the characters and that of the author himself. I will explore the implications of a constant rewriting, the risks, but also the possibilities that it brings with it. In order to do this I will also compare Lagarce’s texts to the novel Correction by Thomas Bernhard. Finally, I will analyze the link between rewriting and Lagarce’s literary project. Jean-Luc Lagarce es uno de los dramaturgos franceses más importantes de las últimas décadas. Si bien a lo largo de su carrera fue más conocido por su trabajo como director, tras su muerte, su obra ha sido revalorizada, al punto que es de los autores más representados en su país. En este texto analizaré un aspecto central de su obra: la reescritura. Abordaré diversos ejemplos de este fenómeno, así como las distintas formas en las que se manifiesta, puesto que no se presenta únicamente como una corrección o una nueva versión de una obra, sino que puede llegar a implicar la alteración del sentido del texto, de la visión de mundo que proyecta. Más aún, volver a escribir se relaciona con el deseo —y la imposibilidad— de corregir y reexperimentar la vida, tanto aquélla de los personajes, como la del autor. Exploraré las implicaciones de una reescritura constante, los riesgos, pero también las posibilidades que trae consigo, para lo cual será pertinente echar mano de Corrección de Thomas Bernhard.
