| Sumario: | In this paper we explore the web of social relations that are activated by the relationship between food and community celebration during the celebration of May 3, the patronal feast and founding anniversary of an Andean village (Cusi Cusi, Puna de Jujuy, Argentina). From a perspective versed in rhythmanalysis, we analyze the multiple rhythms that characterize both the planning and the preparation and serving of traditional dishes to hundreds of diners. These rhythms are marked by materialities, actors and symbologies typical of an extraordinary context. A polyrhythm where the civic character, on the one hand, and the religious or traditional Andean celebration, on the other, cohabit among protocols, expectations, reciprocities and resolution of unforeseen events. |
