During the period 2008-2015, which is signed by the international crises started in 2009, the limits to the growth of the industrial sector and the gradual deterioration of the commercial balance started to become remarkable. Finally, in the period 2015-2016, due to the change in the government at the end of 2015, marked modifications in the international insertion profile were generated. What can be appreciated, along the whole period under study, is that the existence of an unbalanced productive structure not only has not been moderated during the period under study, but perhaps it is being aggravated by the policies carried out and/or not carried out during the last years. This shows once again one of the historical problems of the Argentine economy: the external restriction. El presente trabajo analiza el perfil de inserción internacional de la Argentina entre 2004 y 2016, desagregando las distintas ramas de la industria manufacturera. A tal efecto se realiza una división de dicho período en tres etapas. La primera abarca el período 2004-2008, donde el país presentó un fuerte crecimiento, con el sector externo como uno de sus motores. Durante el período 2008-2015, que está signado por la crisis internacional iniciada en 2009, comienzan a hacerse notables los límites al crecimiento del sector industrial y el gradual deterioro del balance comercial. Finalmente, en el período 2015-2016, ante el cambio de gobierno de finales de 2015, se generan marca-das modificaciones en el patrón de inserción internacional. Lo que puede observarse a lo largo del todo el perío-do bajo estudio es que la existencia de una estructura productiva desequilibrada no sólo no se ha moderado du-rante el periodo bajo estudio, sino que tal vez se está viendo agravada por las políticas llevadas adelante y/o no realizadas durante los últimos años.
