This work is placed in the community of Santa Ana, south-west of the province of Tucumán and north-east of the Argentina Republic, where one of the most relevant sugar mills operated from the late-19th century to the mid-20th. Since the early creation of the community, passing through the establishment of the sugar mill until its shutdown, Santa Ana saw power initiatives that consolidated processes of stigmatization and domination. These processes are analyzed from material remains and memories of its inhabitants, which were recorded during ethnographic research from 2015 to 2018. This study is complemented with the analysis of primary sources, mainly derived from local newspapers. El artículo aborda, desde el presente, las huellas infraestructurales y las memorias en torno a las iniciativas de poder de largo alcance que operaron en un territorio atravesado por procesos de auge y ocaso productivo. El trabajo se sitúa en la comuna de Santa Ana –sudoeste de la provincia de Tucumán, noroeste de la República Argentina–, donde funcionó, desde fines del siglo XIX hasta mediados del siglo XX, uno de los ingenios azucareros más importantes de la provincia. Desde la conformación del poblado, pasando por el emplazamiento del ingenio azucarero, hasta su cierre, en Santa Ana operaron iniciativas de poder que consolidaron procesos de estigmatización y dominación. Estos procesos se analizan a partir de vestigios materiales y de memorias de la población local, registrados a partir de una investigación etnográfica realizada entre los años 2015 y 2018, estudio que se complementa con el análisis de fuentes primarias, fundamentalmente de diarios locales. O artigo aborda, a partir do presente, os traços e memórias infraestruturais em torno de iniciativas de poder de longo alcance que operaram em um território atravessado por processos de expansão e declínio produtivo. A obra está localizada na Comuna de Santa Ana –sudoeste da província de Tucumán, noroeste da República Argentina– onde funcionou desde o final do século XIX até meados do século XX, um dos mais importantes engenhos de açúcar da província. Desde a formação do povoado, passando pela localização do engenho de açúcar, até o seu fechamento, em Santa Ana operaram iniciativas de poder que consolidaram processos de estigmatização e dominação.
