The work proposes the category of the public as an axis to anthropologically analyze the way in which the denial of interest is emblematized in organizations that are defined as non-profit and whose tasks are oriented towards the public good. The native perspective of those who invoke the non-profit is recovered, understood as renouncing private profit in favor of the common good, to analyze how it operates on participation in public life from these organizations. From this analysis it is revealed that the native opposition between “tramoya” and “vocation” is key to understanding what model of the public is reflected behind the invocation of the non-profit. The empirical cut includes different non-profit organizations in the city of Olavarría, province of Buenos Aires, during the period 2013-2020. The analysis material is made up of ethnographic interviews, observation records and material recovered from different local media. |

El trabajo propone la categoría de lo público como eje para analizar antropológicamente el modo en que se emblematiza la negación del interés en organizaciones que se definen como no lucrativas y cuyas tareas se orientan hacia el bien público. Se recupera la perspectiva nativa de quienes invocan lo no lucrativo, entendido como renuncia a la ganancia privada en favor del bienestar común, para analizar de qué modo opera sobre la participación en la vida pública a partir de estas organizaciones. Desde este análisis se revela que la oposición nativa entre “tramoya” y “vocación” resulta clave para comprender qué modelo de lo público se trasunta detrás de la invocación a lo no lucrativo. El recorte empírico comprende distintas organizaciones sin fines de lucro de la ciudad de Olavarría, provincia de Buenos Aires, durante el periodo 2013-2020. El material de análisis se compone de entrevistas etnográficas, registros de observación y material recuperado de diferentes medios de comunicación locales. O trabalho propõe a categoria do público como eixo para analisar antropologicamente a forma como a negação de interesse é simbolizada em organizações que se definem como sem fins lucrativos e cujas tarefas são orientadas para o bem público. Recupera-se a perspectiva nativa daqueles que invocam o sem fins lucrativos, entendido como a renúncia ao lucro privado em prol do bem comum, para analisar como se opera a participação na vida pública dessas organizações. A partir dessa análise, revela-se que a oposição nativa entre “tramoya” e “vocação” é fundamental para entender qual modelo de público se reflete por trás da invocação do sem fins lucrativos.
