This study coversfrom the late XVIth century to the late XVIIth century. It is based on the study of the early land grants and their subsequent sales. The detailed description of the territory included in those land grants, with a preciseknowledge of the terrain and the early colonial toponymy, have allowed us to locate the affected areas and present a set of graphic images that are otherwise difficult to build. The analysis of the affected territoryand the historical process demonstrates the high degree of expropriation of indigenous lands and land concentration that occurred in these colonial territories. Se realiza un análisis del proceso de expropiación colonial de las tierras de las sociedades indígenas andinas que habitaban la actual “Puna de Jujuy”. El estudio abarca el período que va desde fines del siglo XVI hasta fines del siglo XVII y está basado en el estudio de las primeras mercedes de tierras y sus sucesivas compraventas. La detallada descripción del territorio que comprenden las mercedes de tierras y su análisis, contando con un preciso conocimiento del terreno y de la toponimia colonial temprana, permitió localizar sobre terreno a los espacios considerados y presentar un conjunto de imágenes gráficas de difícil construcción. El entrecruzamiento del análisis del territorio afectado y del proceso histórico permite demostrar el altísimo grado de expropiación de tierras indígenas y de concentración de la tierra que se dio en estos territorios coloniales. Este artigo analisa o processo de expropriação colonial das terras das sociedades indígenas andinas que habitavam a atual Puna de Jujuy. O estudo abrange o período do final do século XVI ao final do século XVII e baseia-se no estudo das primeiras concessões de terras e suas vendas subsequentes. A descrição detalhada do território abrangido pelas concessões e sua análise, com base no conhecimento preciso do terreno e da toponímia colonial inicial, permitiu localizar as áreas consideradas no terreno e apresentar um conjunto de imagens gráficas de difícil construção.
