Exploring the potential synergies, the reciprocal contributions and the dialogues that can arise between different ways of producing knowledge about nature and the territory, as art and geography, constitutes a stimulating challenge. If we think of landscape as a hybrid, double concept that refers simultaneously to both a material reference and its representation, we can open up our interpretations of it towards new paths. The referent and its representation are reciprocally constructed, they feed each other in a continuous process. The different perspectives on landscapes enrich our understanding: they give them complexity, they account for their fragmentation, the dynamics of their configuration and the historicity of the processes that constitute them. And if we add to that a refined and subtle artistic technique to capture the vision and perception of the landscape, we find ourselves with a work that undoubtedly stimulates reflection on space through artistic appreciation. Ana Teresa Barboza (Lima, 1981) is a Peruvian artist with an exquisite sensitivity to record the landscape and the environment. The Weaving the Stones exhibition, held at the Museum of Latin American Art in Buenos Aires (MALBA) between April and August 2022, presents a series of works that condense a large amount of ancestral knowledge about the environment and numerous craft techniques, inviting us to think about territory, communities and landscapes in permanent transformation, always changing and under construction. |

Explorar las posibles sinergias, los aportes recíprocos y los diálogos que pueden plantearse entre formas diversas de producir conocimiento sobre la naturaleza y el territorio como ocurre con el arte y la geografía constituye un estimulante desafío. Si pensamos al paisaje como un concepto híbrido, doble, que nos remite simultáneamente tanto a un referente material como a su representación, podemos empezar a abrir nuestras interpretaciones del mismo hacia nuevos caminos. El referente y su representación se contruyen recíprocamente, se realimentan en un proceso continuo. Las distintas miradas sobre los paisajes enriquecen nuestra comprensión: les dan complejidad, dan cuenta de su fragmentación, de la dinámica de su configuración y de la historicidad de los procesos que los constituyen. Y si a eso se le suma una refinada y sutil técnica artística para plasmar la visión y la percepción del paisaje, nos encontramos con una obra que sin dudas estimula la reflexión sobre el espacio a través de la apreciación artística. Ana Teresa Barboza (Lima, 1981) es una artista peruana con una exquisita sensibilidad para registrar el paisaje y el ambiente. La exposición Tejer las piedras, desarrollada en el Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) entre abril y agosto de 2022 presenta una serie de obras que condensan una gran cantidad de conocimientos ancestrales sobre el entorno y numerosas técnicas artesanales, invitándonos a pensar al territorio, a las comunidades y a los paisajes en permanente transformación, siempre cambiantes y en construcción.
