New biographical data about the inspector is presented, while the Inspection itself is considered an intervention whose main objective was to compensate the Indians for the damages brought by personal service and the legal land demarcation over their villages. Finally, the problem regarding the formation and consolidation of land rights in Indian villages is examined, retrieving information from an unpublished document dealing with the enforcement of sentences based in the Inspection, in Córdoba jurisdiction. Este estudio avanza en la reconstrucción de la coyuntura de fines del siglo XVII en la Gobernación del Tucumán, marcada por la Visita a las encomiendas del oidor de Charcas, Antonio Martínez Luján de Vargas, y la ejecución de sus sentencias. Presenta nueva información biográfica sobre el visitador, la visita es considerada como una intervención cuyo objetivo principal era desagraviar a los indios encomendados, enrelación con el servicio personal y la demarcación legal de tierras de reducción para los pueblos de indios, y castigar a los encomenderos. Finalmente, se reflexiona sobre el problema de la formación y consolidación de los derechos a las tierras en común de los pueblos de indios en la región, recuperando la información de un documento inédito referido a la ejecución de las sentencias de la Visita en la jurisdicción de Córdoba. Este estudo avança na reconstrução da situação no final do século XVII na província de Tucumán, marcada pela visitação das encomiendas pelo juiz de Charcas, Antonio Martínez Luján de Vargas, e a execução de suas sentenças. Apresenta novas informações biográficas sobre o visitante. A visitação é considerada uma intervenção cujo objetivo principal era atender às necessidades das encomiendas, em relação ao serviço pessoal e à demarcação legal de terras de redução para as aldeias indígenas, e punir os encomenderos.
