The aim deals with logics of publications and edition’s politics linked to the reader public of that period, and narrative issues linked to the authorship, like a way of understanding the importance and attractiveness of Schmidl’s story, the unique chonicle about the conquest of River Plate with eight editions between 1567 and 1625. El presente trabajo analiza las diversas publicaciones de la crónica de Ulrico Schmidl, realizadas durante los siglos XVI y XVII en Alemania en el marco de colecciones de relatos de viaje, como la de Jean Theodor De Bry y la de Levinus Hulsius. El objetivo es abordar lógicas de publicación y políticas de edición, vinculadas con el público lector del período, y cuestiones narrativas ligadas a la autoría, como forma de comprender la importancia y el atractivo del relato de Schmidl, única crónica sobre la conquista del Río de la Plata que vio la luz ocho veces entre 1567 y 1625. Este artigo discute as várias publicações da crónica de Ulrich Schmidl, feitas durante os séculos XVI e XVII, na Alemanha, como parte de coleções de narrativas de viagem, tais como as empreendidas por Jean Theodor de Bry ou Levinus Hulsius.
