The paper analyzes how the ways in which members of this group perceive the limits, distances and meanings of what is local affect their perception and positioning as “peripheral” within the field of culture. It is based on interviews with group members and the participation in virtual and in-person activities between 2019 and 2021. The article examines the definition of an inside and an outside of the locality and constructs the category of exteriority as a constitutive part of the social world in which this group of artists is inserted. El artículo realiza una aproximación a las prácticas artísticas situadas en una pequeña ciudad. En base al seguimiento a un colectivo de artistas visuales que reúne referentes de distintas ciudades del noroeste bonaerense, se analizan las diversas formas de percibir los límites, las distancias y los sentidos sobre lo local que afectan su propia percepción y posicionamiento como “periféricos” dentro del campo cultural. A partir de una serie de entrevistas a participantes del grupo y del acompañamiento en varias actividades en forma virtual y presencial durante el período 2019-2021, se enfoca en la definición de un adentro y un afuera de la localidad y construye la categoría de exterioridad como área constitutiva del mundo social en el que se inserta este grupo de artistas. O artigo faz uma abordagem das práticas artísticas localizadas em uma pequena cidade. Com base ao acompanhamento de um grupo de artistas visuais de diferentes cidades do noroeste de Buenos Aires, Argentina, são analisadas as formas de perceber os limites, as distâncias e os sentidos com relação à própria localidade e que afetam a percepção e o posicionamento situando-os como “periféricos” no campo da cultura.
