On the one hand, it will be of interest to know the representations about the city and the socio spatial proposals that state agencies deploy through the design and implementation of three musical events: the contest Vamos las bandas, the celebration of the city’s anniversary and the festival La Plata, ciudad rock. On the other hand, we will analyze how these representations and proposals act as guides that order, rank, and model both the city and the music, making specific links between certain territories and certain music. A qualitative methodological strategy was used, consisting of participant observation, shared urban itineraries, cartography production, and secondary source analysis. As a result, we will show, among other things, how the local state agency carries out ordering, hierarchization and selection operations through which it recenters the city and places certain music there, while excluding and displacing it towards the margins -and towards the subordinate peripheries. - to other practices, musicians and actors. Partiendo de un conjunto de políticas culturales en vinculación al rock que se desarrollaron en la ciudad de La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina) en el período 2014-2018, este artículo propone abordar los procesos de territorialización sonora y de imaginación geográfica. Por un lado, será de interés conocer las representaciones acerca de la ciudad y las propuestas socio espaciales que despliegan las agencias estatales a través del diseño e implementación de tres eventos musicales: el concurso Vamos las bandas, la celebración del aniversario de la ciudad y el festival La Plata, ciudad rock. Por otro lado, analizaremos cómo estas representaciones y propuestas actúan como guías que ordenan, jerarquizan y modelan tanto a la ciudad como a la música, realizando vinculaciones específicas entre ciertos territorios y ciertas músicas. Se utilizó una estrategia metodológica de tipo cualitativa, compuesta por observación participante, itinerarios urbanos compartidos, producción de cartografía y análisis de fuentes secundarias.
